While at work yesterday, I had almost a whole post written, but was interrupted when one of the bosses came in, then I realized I had no business blogging at work, if I was not comfortable with the powers that be knowing I was screwing off while on their time. Hmmm....it's been a long time since I have had to worry about that, in my past job, I would say to Bill "don't bother me now, I'm blogging..". I think those days are over.
I was stuck there for the full ten hours yesterday as the one I like to call Drama Queen, the one that comes in late and stays late to cover until 5:30 every day had yet another *tragedy*. I am SOOO over other people's problems, I could spit. Yesterday, she found her "boyfriend" (a man of 47, btw) in bed with his ex girlfriend. So, I had the tears on the phone and her asking if she could take a personal day. I said yes, but I am already fed up with this girl and her problems. She is 32 years old, has two sons, and lives her life this way, apparently on purpose. Every one of us has bad things happen to us, things that are of no fault of ours. I get that. To me--drama is when things happen that you knew were going to happen, and you are upset about it anyway. And this girl knew this was going to happen. This girl is a player, and she is seeing one of her kind. So...you get two players involved in a relationship, and viola--what do you have? One of them in bed with someone else...Gah. In the full three weeks that I have been there, I have listened to stories told to the other woman in our office..every morning a new story. They puke me, the chatter is unnecessary and annoying, the subject is inappropriate and boring, and I am already fed up to here-----. She has missed two and a half days because her kids were sick, she has missed half a day because her water pipes froze, she overslept the first day I was there, her kids have had dr appointments, dentist appointments...and this has all been in three weeks. She has been with this company for five years and I never want to fire anyone, it sucks to have to do that. But believe me, if there is no other option, I will do just that. I already spoke to the owner about the excessive bs, and he told me to do what I needed to, the department was mine. What bothers me, is that there are so many others out there that would take the job so much more seriously...hell, I would love to have some of my previous employees there. But, I shall bide my time and wait and see what happens. She is, after all a single mother, but why does SHE not care about that?
In other news....I have nothing. My life is one issue after another, and I find myself struggling to keep one foot in front of the other. Mark and I did spend a few minutes talking last evening, things are not progressing well. Turns out he's relieved that he no longer has to "worry" about me as much...yea for him, who knew he was worrying anyway? I have come to the conclusion that if he is happier living in a huge, empty house, with a senile dog, more than a hundred miles from his job, then he must have been one very unhappy man, living here with me. He tells me he wants to work this all out...and I am left wondering when..perhaps he is "working" on it when he is out every weekend in the local tavern? I assume he has revived his pool game, once upon a time, he wowed 'em with his skills. Ahh, it is good to be the Mark.
With any luck, this day could be drama-free. None from my children or the dq at work. If I was a betting woman, my money would be on them, however. Happy Humpday, I'm out.
I have fixed it all for years and years, but now I refuse. I will just go with it, broken or not.

I am boring like that
It's storming outside, a sign of spring---maybe? I am so ready for warm weather, blue skies, green grass and trees with leaves, but it's too early. Snow is predicted for tomorrow.
I have had a good but stressful week. I guess the stress will never subside, it has become my friend. Work stress is one thing, home life and family stress is a whole different ballgame. Throw in the new *improved* financial stress, and I am a heart attack waiting to happen. Nothing much I can do about any of it---at work, I am plugging along as best I can. I am still buried but it's better. I need to make these next two weeks count as much as possible as the end of this month will arrive before I am ready to go through what I just did. I learned the quirks of this dealership though, so future months won't be quite as difficult. Co-worker wise, it's all okay. Most folks there are polite and civil. I am difficult to get to know, I am aware. I always operate on a "need to know" basis, so getting to know someone like me is a challenge. I just don't see any need to tell everything I know...to anyone. In my many years of living, I learned that is most always a mistake.
Family life ---- pretty even keel at the moment. Janelle is pregnant and alone and I worry about her, alot. She is sad much of the time, and I try really hard to see it from her perspective. That can be very difficult. I try to keep her "up" as much as I can. I feel fairly certain the alone part is temporary and that makes me sad...but it's not my life. I am trying to help her financially because there is no way she can do it on her own right now...and I no longer have the means, but I am trying. She did order the crib and changing table yesterday so I think we will be having a family "assemble the baby furniture" party soon.
Mark and I? I don't know. We did spend one evening/night together this week..it was almost as though neither of us could wait for it to end. I am beginning to think that he is "over" all of it...me, the kids, the kids issues..and really, who could blame him? And still, it grinds me to think that everyone that knows us believes our issues are mine alone.
Today is Saturday and I don't have to go to work! I can hardly believe it. Of course, I could go to work, but I am not expected to and I just don't think getting into that habit is good, not for me. They pay me to get the job done. It seems to me I should be able to do that in forty or less, once I am all squared away. That will take some time...but I am getting there. So, I have a two day weekend. I am excited to spend it cleaning and shopping today and doing nothing tomorrow. Yes I know, I am boring like that. Happy Saturday!

Do be do..
Spent my day yesterday, watching the inauguration, in-between the mundane household tasks. I cried a little, at the hope on the faces of those that traveled so far to be there...at the words I sincerely want to be true...and at the realization that I couldn't call my mom and compare notes and thoughts. She was the reason I love politics, she was the reason I have my own ideas and beliefs. We often differed politically and we always enjoyed the discussions. I miss my mom. I had a dream about her last night, when I woke up, I forgot she was gone for a moment. That was the best moment I will have today.
I have spent the past few days on the phone, trying to gather information for/about the business closing that I wrote about a few days ago. In doing that, I have learned that MANY of the small car dealerships that I know so well and that are in this general area are closing. I don't even know what to say to that. For one thing, it explains why I am still unemployed, as I know as sure as I'm sitting here that my many years of experience in that field is certainly desired --- assuming, of course, that there is business being done. I knew the business in general had gone south, but I was not aware of the enormity of the problem. That knowledge doesn't exactly make me feel better, but it does help me understand.
I have been working on a deal for the ice cream store for the past two months...there had been an offer made, but certain things had to be done and accountants had to be consulted and blah-blah-blah. In the end, it fell through. Yesterday was the day that I was notified. That too, made me cry...as the cash flow here and for Bill is becoming an issue. He of course has now lost over three hundred thousand on the car dealership, and the cash that would have cleared on the ICS deal would have helped him along until the mess could be sorted out in court. My finances were needing the shot in the arm that the sale would have provided, as well. There is not a job to be found - at least not for me. I am overqualified for what is available, and they don't mind saying that. No matter how much I assure them that I will not be moving on to greener pastures when the opportunity arises. And of course, I would. They aren't stupid.
Today, I have to SHOP...with my sons. Have I mentioned that I hate shopping?
Happy Wednesday. :)

Rambling Rose
Two weeks from today, Mark and I and a zillion other family members will set off in a rented van for Las Vegas. (The others will not be driving with us, I bought them plane tickets.) Under the circumstances, I am not sure if I should feel like going, but I have to tell you all ---- I cannot wait. I mean, I cannot WAIT. I know that leaving all the problems doesn't change any of them but if I don't get a break from the bullshit of life soon....I fear that I will become one of this families issues, as I will have to be locked up in a padded room. For the past year - yes it has been a whole year--things just keep going to hell. It began last summer/fall, when I was getting too weak to walk. And we all know that progressed to the wheelchair...then, my daughter found herself with child, and we all know how that ended late last January. Then my job blew up in my face, then we moved from the town I called home for the past 14 years, then I have taken and quit several jobs....then one child after another has had serious, scary issues...and now my mom. And daughter finds herself with child again. I am not celebrating this, and won't ---- until things are certain to be okay, as for my own protection, I just plain can't. Excuse me if that sounds cold but once I have been screwed in this life by something out of my control, I must....I HAVE to wait until I am relatively sure that it can't happen again. I certainly am not happy with some of the choices she has decided to make but again, not in my control and seriously, if I think about all of this too much right now, I am afraid of what will happen to me. And yes, I know that this is not about me, but if I don't consider me in all of it, I don't know what might happen. I have become too fragile to deal with most anything...and that's the first time I have ever said that. I don't like fragile people, but I am now understanding them. (I still don't like them.) There is something in me that makes me plod on....and once I quit doing that, I worry about what happens then. The one thing I do know is this: My life has to settle down. Things around me have to stop falling to shit or there will be no one wanting my help anymore, as they are going to have to help me.
It is Sunday, and Trav goes home today. I know she is ready, she has been gone a long time. She is so good at helping when help is needed, she spent literally all day - thirteen hours at the hospital with mom yesterday, as Richard had to be gone to take care of some business. I didn't even make it there, when I woke up yesterday, I was in a huge amount of pain and was too weak to walk across the floor, that scared me, I haven't been like that in months. Then as the day wore on, I came down with a full blown cold--sore throat, runny nose, coughing. Just great. I need to go to the hospital today but am not too sure I should, although with all the medications my mom is on, it's hard to believe that my cold would be a problem. But anyway, Trav will go home today and I will miss her. Somehow she always gets in on the drama of my life, and there has been plenty of that....so I am more than sure she is ready to leave.
Mom has been transferred to a regular room and may get to go home herself in a few days. She is still having issues but they are things that can be taken care of from there. I am so shocked that she has survived this. I feel like we have all been given one more chance at time with her, as we all know it's a matter of time before her lungs fail completely. Even just a couple of months more would be wonderful, and I plan to make the most of the time. Unfortunately, I have to get myself back to work now, as financially I cannot wait any longer. I feel completely unprepared to do that, my mind seems to be missing. I go back in to talk with my manager tomorrow, to see how I can possibly stay on the timetable that had been set up --- as I am not prepared to move further with my training. A good part of today has to be spent with my nose in a book and I pray that I can find my brain before then.
So back to the vacation --- yes, I know it's selfish of me to feel like taking one now. I know that. But if I have ever needed anything before, it couldn't be more than I need this now. And I know that I am taking most of my issues along with me...my kids...but they will be on strict notice that I want to hear NOTHING bad, this is a time for fun and if they can't accomplish that, then stay way from ME. I have the highest hopes that everyone can get along while there -- just call me Rodney King----but seriously, EVERYONE has to get along for four days. FOUR DAYS. Will it kill them? I think not. LATER.

What's new, Pussycat?
A happy Friday to you all! It has been a crazy week, I'll tell you. Wonderful, but crazy. Other than the pesky job situation, just about perfect, I must say. I am now the proud owner of a Direct TV box once again, so the world is good. :) My, how I hate living without my news.
Today, we have the bed delivered. That will be good, after that-I don't think there will be anymore deliveries or moving of things, other than the few things that we still need to bring from down South. Frankly, we are out of room here, so if I bring it, I must really need it. The only important thing that I can think of that still needs to come this direction is the television for the spare room. And I think I left some towels and sheets in the linen closet, although it wouldn't hurt me at all to start over in that department, mine really look BAD. That will have to wait though, we have already spent a fortune on things that we HAD to have here, although I am headed back to Target (pronounced Tarjay for the hoity-toity) to buy a print for the wall in the living room...that's right folks, I am just classy like that, I buy my art in a store that sells milk and bread, teehee.
So, today I have an interview at my bank. They need a branch manager (among other things). Wish me luck. On Monday, I have an interview for a sales job that I think I would like very much. I am hoping that one of these pan out and I don't have to spend much time looking. I have done a little research on the George S May company, and have decided that their tactics are a little too high pressure for me to be comfortable with. And so it goes...
I am sitting on my balcony as I write, it certainly is a beautiful morning. You wouldn't know that the whole area, (not here, but around me) is flooding.
You all have a great Friday - I plan to. :)
