Another weekend behind me. It was a busy one, a good one, although I can't really tell you why. They fly by in a blur, one wonderful, leisurely minute at a time, then BOOM!--Monday morning smacks me right in the face. And I honestly have no issue with Monday - Friday, unless you count my Sucky Thursday campaign, but the weekends are the whipped cream and cherry of life.
We (I) found a car for the youngest. It's quite a car - a pt cruiser, one of a thousand or some damned thing, a special edition made in 2001. Hail damaged but still looking fine, wild crazy flames and iridescent paint, just the type of thing he loves. He is so excited he could just pee...and it's a good, affordable deal. As long as he pays for it. If he doesn't, I will be in trouble. I give him the benefit of the doubt, again. He is growing up and finally getting it. And there is nothing in this world I wouldn't do, or give to all three of my kids. One problem, my middle kid is also nearly carless, his gets him from here to there, and so far, it is still doing that. He too, is now capable of paying but past stupidity has left him unable to do it on his own and it will soon be necessary to help him in the same way. There is only so much of me to go around, but things have a way of working, and I keep telling myself just that. At least there is another vehicle in his household that can keep them going until. In the youngest's home, the dead transmission car was the only one. Two people with jobs and no wheels leaves one pretty helpless. I am currently without wheels, depending on rides from youngest as I just gave him my car, his schedule is the one that requires unusual driving, mine is the same every day. He will pick up his new one in a day or two. So, another problem solved.
Did I mention that I found this car through the man I was dating last summer? It wasn't really through him, it is his. I am not too excited about the new contact but I initiated it, and honestly, when I saw him yesterday, it was good. I do like him and when questioned, I told him so. I laid out the rules one more time. We will see. There is no question how any of this works together, the car, the relationship, the whole deal....I am nothing if not blunt. If you leave a conversation with me not understanding, then you are completely deaf. So...
The rest of the weekend seemed to be spent putting out fires with my kids, answering calls and texts at crazy hours, talking with them as though it were noon, not two am. I am always a little surprised that they feel no hesitation in calling, but I know that's because I have told each of them to do just that. They take me up on it, and one day when I am gone, who will be available?
I am wowed by SKYPE! For the first time ever, I actually got to see the person I was talking on the phone to, and let me tell you that my little Brodie thought seeing MeMaw and PaPa was the coolest thing, ever. Isn't technology awesome?
I'm off to find oatmeal, dammit I am hungry this morning. Happy Monday. :)
I have fixed it all for years and years, but now I refuse. I will just go with it, broken or not.

A Letter to Monday
Dear Monday,
I have spent all my adult life really, really hating you. Hating the calm, even way you insist on coming back. Hating that you are never late, never too tired or never interested in a vacation. So, I give up. Monday, you are now going to be my friend. After all, it isn't your fault that you got stuck with being Monday. I have decided that I feel sorry for you, after all, of all the days, you are the most hated, dreaded, detested of them all. I apologize to you, because I have hated you right along with everyone else I know. Now, I realize now that it isn't your fault you are Monday. We are who we are, and you must have drawn the shortest stick. So how are you, friend? I admire your tenacity...and should I ever want to be like any day, it's you. You are one tough cookie. I like that in a day. Keep smiling, keep on keeping on. Hugs, Monday.
Your new friend,
Jamie

Reality
Yep, I'm back home...and very happy to be here, I must say. However, it was a wonderful, fun, and as relaxing as it could have been kind of birthday. I love my sons and I love their girlfriends. The place Craig and Dani have chosen to live is literally perfect for the two of them, and I am very proud of my oldest, I do believe he has found his niche. So, it's all good. :)
We got home late on Saturday night, and I have been trying to recover from hours upon hours of car time since.
The time change sucks.
It's Monday, and back to real life today. I will write a proper post with pics in the next day or two. Have a happy. :)

Monday Morning Quickie
Another weekend behind us...I wonder how many weekends we are allotted in our lives? I could probably figure that out pretty easily, but maybe I wouldn't want to know the answer to that. I would like to say this has been a wonderfully relaxing one, but anytime my kids are involved, there IS no relaxing. It was as good as it could be, here in my own world. I accomplished everything on my to-do list...well almost everything. There are still some un-ironed clothes hanging in my closet, but that is due to pure laziness. I actually slept last night, for the first time in days, so I expect to feel pretty good today. Hope every one's day is perfect. Later.

Bore alert....you've been warned.
Monday again. Where do they come from and don't you all agree that they seem to come faster than they used to? My weekend was okay, it's kind of a blur right now, believe it or not, I just got out of bed.
My day yesterday didn't exactly turn out as planned. Mark and I had planned to go visit Bill, he's at his sister's house and I haven't seen him for more than a week. I am certain he knew we were going to visit, but after a few phone calls that went unanswered, I decided he wasn't up to having company. It's hard to know whether you are helping someone when they are ill and you go to see them or if you are actually being a pain in the butt....if I were in his shoes, visitors when I am sick is the latter. Generally, I want to be left alone. Bill however, is a bit of a social butterfly, calling him a butterfly makes me giggle, but you all know what I mean. I know his sister was going to be gone all day so I didn't call her, I assumed she didn't know his status. So, after we cleaned this whole place from top to bottom and I got all beautiful and ready to go, I hit the couch. And stayed there. It honestly was a pretty good day...if you count sleeping alot. I don't know why I am so tired recently, old age I presume.
I did ride my bike for a while in the morning, but that didn't turn out the way I had hoped. No matter how many miles I am able to walk, it seems that I cannot get my body used to riding my bike. From the moment I got on, the pain in my legs started and it was just no fun. I am frustrated, by now I should be able to do so much better than I am. I don't get the opportunity as often as I would like, the traffic and general hustle and bustle of shoppers, construction workers, gym members and employees of this whole little compound starts really early and doesn't quit until way after dark. So that generally leaves early early on Saturday or Sundays. Perhaps that is part of the problem but I am able to walk - and when I say walk, understand that I am not talking about strolling, I mean WALK fast-for as long as an hour these days. So, I have no idea. I am trying so hard to get my pre-surgery strength back, and I am getting there, other than on my bike. I have eight more pounds to go---and I will be back into my six's. That is part of my goal, too. I don't feel like I am fat, but I don't feel I look as good as I should. I don't know where the extra fat came from, I suppose sitting all the time when I couldn't walk. I have not changed my diet but the added activity has caused me to lose 16 pounds since I moved here. I am feeling much better about that.
Today, I have no idea at this juncture what I am doing. There is alot of needed cleaning to do at the ICS, but we still have to serve lunch to the local window factory on Thursday, it was part of the annual agreement. It is now closed, this has just not been a good year for that place, I suppose the economy along with some employee problems, had made it such a handful, and I am not unhappy that the year there is now over. I do need to find out my own status on the job situation. A couple of phone calls this morning should take care of that. I would really like to start working this next week, I hope the company has all of my required background checks finished. I also need to begin studying for my series 6 state test (mutual funds), and I can't say I am looking forward to that. Coloring my hair is also on my to-do for this day...you all know how much I love that job.
Whatever you all are doing today, make this Monday a good one. I will catch you all on the flip-flop. What the hell is a flip-flop anyway? :)

The most doable Monday
Another Monday begins, in a world where there seems to be too many Monday's and not enough Friday's.
I am on the fence this morning, wavering between stupidly hopeful and hopelessly despondent. So many worrisome problems for those I love, too few answers. Yet in the midst, I find myself feeling sure that it will all be okay...no wonder my ex called me PollyAnna. Is that frustrating to live with, hard to be around? I have always thought that finding the positive while living on Planet Negative is refreshing, helpful, an oasis of hope in the sea of despair. Perhaps I HAVE been wrong all these years. Perhaps I do merely piss off those I love. Ahh...too much to ponder at such an early hour.
I can't say I feel foolishly hopeful about my latest undertaking, this test is getting the best of me. Time is running out and there is no way I am going to make it. I still have today. I will make the best possible use of my time, no worries there. But I am not what I once was and that stings.
I am in pain. I am so damned tired of it. I have sought the advice of those that know, I have the pills that are supposed to help, I try to do what I'm told and take good care of myself, but none of it makes a difference. It's getting to me, I have to admit.
And so now, as usual, I want to wish you all the best possible day. That sounds rather trite however, after the above paragraphs, so allow me to merely wish you all the most doable version of this Monday.
