I have fixed it all for years and years, but now I refuse. I will just go with it, broken or not.

Party DAY!
However, this weekend will be the beginning of a better time for me. The sun is shining and it will be warm today. :) Brodie's second birthday party is this afternoon and who can be down when their favorite two year old in the whole world is having a party? Not me.
I will spend a couple of wonderful hours playing two year old games and wearing a funny hat and eating cake. Sounds perfect to me. What will you all be doing?

Sleepless
New console table in living/dining area of my apartment. The homemade cedar chest that Mark made in high school (that I love) went back to it's rightful owner.
New SMALL desk in my bedroom. Geez, in this picture, it looks messy, though I didn't think it was when I took it.
So, this is what fifty looks like. I can't say I'm impressed, but it is what it is. No wonder my mother had face lifts. Gah.
The pie safe that I wanted back in my apartment, instead of at Marks. This is what prompted the weekend of moving furniture up and down the hallway. It was made for me by someone that used to love me.

Lazy with a capital Z
So much rattling around in my pea brain this morning, I just had to get it on "paper".
I feel so bad for those in Haiti, but I cannot watch anymore of it. Every news broadcast focuses right in..and again, this is a disaster of epic proportions and not to be taken lightly or shoved out of one's mind by any means, but I just can't watch any more. My little bit of money is not going to change anything for those poor folks. All the telethons and concerts and fundraisers and intense commercials by the first lady, or celebrities is not going to save any lives. Too little, way too late. The cash will help with the rebuilding, it will eventually help with sustaining the lives that are left, but it will not lift those concrete caskets resting on top of the trapped, and it will not help anyone right this second. And that just makes me want to cry. I cannot look at the complete and utter despair another second. And the children? OMGosh. Disasters such as these just leave me questioning..and the politics that become involved seriously piss me off. I don't care if you are an elephant or a donkey, this is a human problem. Gah.
I woke up too early, in pain and head pounding. I am thankful it's Sunday and I can take it easy today.
Yesterday's home show was seriously the most boring event I have ever attended but I got the spend the afternoon with Janelle and Brodie and that was awesome. He is a little mac truck...with a bit of energizer bunny thrown in. Janelle is going to have to start setting up a few boundaries for this child, he's only eight months old but for him, that means going on two. He is so advanced for his age, it makes me wonder if babies are just moving that fast these days, I have no way of knowing but it sure seems that way. He is pulling up on everything, has his own mind and ideas and lets you know when things don't go his way. LOUDLY. However, he does every bit of it with that smile...you know, the one that just rips your heart right out of your chest. It's so hard for a new mom to know when to do what. She changes his diaper and he just crawls right off...by the time she gets the diaper, the pants, and by now, the shoes, socks BACK on, she is worn all the way out. I feel for her, she is already exhausted, pregnant will do that to you...and by the time her day is over, she has fought at least two bucking broncos....but she will learn. And they will make it. It was right about where SHE is now, with a small baby and one on the way, that I started to wonder if my kids would honestly be the death of me, and since I am still wondering that to this day, I am guessing not. :)
This will be a lazy day, I don't think I am even going to cook. There is a book calling my name and a lounge chair with my name on it. Yep...that's the way this day will go. Have a happy. :)

Monday things
I did accomplish ninety percent of my Christmas shopping on Saturday, and that felt wonderful. I have only a few more things to buy and a few to wrap. There won't be nearly as much under my scrawny tree this year, but what is there is paid for, and that's saying something. :) I am very much looking forward to Christmas with my kids. I always have the Christmas eve celebration, then on Christmas day, they all scatter to the homes of their loves. It works well. This Christmas day will just be Mark and I, and I am honestly looking forward to that. The pressure is off, it's a time that we can just be. As an added bonus, it falls on a Friday this year, so there will be a long weekend involved.
My apartment is a pig-sty. I didn't even have the strength to clean it up this weekend and that never happens. I will have to find the strength to do it one evening this week. I didn't get to spend any time with Brodie and I am having withdrawals. I did go to lunch with he and Janelle on Friday, so I got to see him for an hour or so. He is the sweetest thing I have ever been around. I received a bit of news at that lunch that left me reeling, somewhat. Life does have a way of knocking us around, you know?
Snow. Snow last night, just a couple of inches, but a huge storm predicted for tomorrow. GREAT. I don't love snow. In fact, I really hate it. But it is what it is, so I guess we'll just break out in a chorus of:

Yesterday

And then, he got tired. And so did grandma. It was ultra time for me, nappy time for him.
I have an interview tomorrow afternoon, for a second job, waitressing. I think it would be so much fun, my only worry is that I won't be able to stand up to the physical-ness of it. If I am lucky enough for them to want to hire this old hag, then I am sure going to give it my best shot. I would love to work weekend nights, as I have no life anyway, and certainly need the money, as Santa Claus is a little worried about Christmas this year. Plus, it would just be FUN. I love that kind of work, and they wear jeans and t-shirts and listen to loud country music there. Is that me or what?
Happy Sunday. Spend it doing something you love. I'm out. :)

Humpday again!
Okay, so I had a whole long story here about a person at work, but then thought better of putting it here. Suffice it to say that I am tired of a few things there and about ready to go postal on the whole damned office.
Take a look at the pics below---not just because I am his grandma, but is that not the cutest baby ever? These are just a few that were taken, but every one was this good, he smiled every time.!

Sunday stuff
I have been busy this weekend, but doing what I can't really say. I didn't exactly give this place the white-glove treatment yesterday, I just wasn't in the mood. Janelle and Nick and Brodie came over and I enjoyed having them, although I carried Brodie around quite a bit and am paying for it in my back this morning. I am planning on going out to walk in just a few minutes, I hope I can walk out the pain. Brodie is of course, so very amazing. I love watching the changes that are taking place in him...every week, there is something new that he has figured out. His smiles seriously light up my entire world, and I find myself being a complete goon, for just one more. I am certain he thinks his grandma is a total lunatic.
I have added music to my site, I hope that you all don't find it too annoying, but I have had fun this morning finding the few selections that I put here. I have alot of work to do on my list, but it's fun. If you hate it, just turn it down.
Hope your day is awesome. I expect mine to be. Later.
