You and I travel to the beat of a different drum

And we meet again, same bat time, same bat channel.

I accomplished alot today:

I took a shovel to my bedroom. No exaggeration here, it was awful. Years of papers stacked here and there, mostly there, as Mark uses his dresser as a desk. Years of clothes that I don't wear and never will wear put into a pile for the garage sale. It made a huge difference, and just looking at it makes me feel better.

I went to the hospital today. My mom is better, there is talk of letting her go home on Saturday, which is her birthday, so the timing is good.

I went to the grocery store again today. I have been to the store more in the past two weeks than I have in the past decade. No, I still don't like doing it any better.

I applied for another gazillion jobs. I have a telephone interview scheduled for four pm on Monday, at least that is some kind of progress. Mark and I have been asked to schedule a tour and have dinner with another place of potential employment, it is a job for the both of us. I called and left a message to schedule it, and haven't heard anything back, yet.

I had a disturbing argument with my daughter, I can't say that made me feel good.

My back is still killing me, which is why I am sitting here again, at the computer.

I spent a small fortune on Easter for my niece's, Alex and Carli. That was fun. Carli's basket is quite adorable, even if I do say so myself. I miss having little kids.

My younger sister, Shell and her family will arrive tomorrow. I am very happy about having Carli here for the weekend, she is three, and quite a little chatterbox. I have a ton of cooking to do in the morning, we are getting together on Saturday afternoon for a birthday celebration for my mom. I will make and take the dinner - pulled barbecue chicken sandwiches, potato salad, cheese cake. All of it is easy to make ahead, so I will do it in the morning.

Happy Friday to you all. :)

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing better. My sister is improving as well. They took her out of isolation.

Happy Friday to you!

I like reading that you are keeping busy and making headway on a few things. So much better than crawling into bed and pulling the covers over your head, which would be easy to do, I know. You give me courage to face the coming weeks and big changes in my life too! What a nice feeling it must be to come into that tidy bedroom! Have a wonderful birthday celebration/Easter with your family, Jamie, the menu sounds delicious - wish we could show up with our plates! :-)

Really to happy to hear your mom is recovering apace! And good timing to be sure :) But most of all, happy you are feeling better than yesterday. Feeling good enough to clean your room is great, because it only helps you feel better when th job is done. Well, for me anyway. Anytime I can declutter a physical space, it helps declutter my inner space.

Happy Easter to you. Enjoy the little ones. What the hell do you put in a 12 year old boy's Easter basket? Gah!!!

Please be sure to tell Mom your blogger friends are pulling for her and HAPPY BIRTHDAY !

Sounds like a great weekend. Enjoy the wee ones, but wash your hands. I got this crud from playing with the little cuties.

I'm glad to hear you'll have some of your favorite people around for Easter. Your mom is getting out and it's her birthday. More good. I just wish your back wasn't killing you. I hope it's a great weekend!

Yeah I hear ya about the bedroom being a mess...I need to get a forklift in mine one of these days! I'm glad to hear that mom is doing better and sure wish your back would stop hurting. Lower back pain really slams you...keeping you from doing so many things. I hate taking pills for it too, but at this point there is no other option for me...at least for now I can get by with only 1 or 2 pills. Big hugs and feel better soon!

Sounds like a good weekend is coming up!

I'm glad your mom is improving and you have an interview. Hopefully this is just the beginning of good things to come.

Take care of yourself, go easy on the cleaning.

God...its a blizzard here AGAIN. 3 inches of the nasty stuff predicted. Hopefully, this is the LAST one for a long time.
Cabin fever is really hitting hard here. My son and I just had it out and I'd like to kick his butt 20 ways from Sunday. Seems like no matter what you do....its never enough. This is just getting SO OLD.
Oh well, I think I'll make myself a drink and escape into a book for a while.
Hope you're feeling better. As for me, I'd like to...stop the world..I wanna get off.
Big hugs.

Hi Honey, sorry I haven't been around much lately. Been sorting out the garden now that the weather has finally cooled. The bedroom and wardrobe is next and I estimate that will take about 2 days.....lol, I'm not joking.

Glad to hear that your Mum is well enough to be released for her birthday and hope you all have a great birthday celebration and a safe and Happy Easter.

Good luck with the job interview (over the phone, wtf???) and I hope your poor back gets better soon. Don't lose hope Jamie, it will get better, really it will.
