Silver wings, shining in the sunlight

I skipped a whole day---and I am sorry about that, I woke up late yesterday, and my day was too wild to stop and post. I got home somewhat early, but in quite a lot of pain, but I did manage a short ride on my new bike, and I didn't fall and break my neck (yet), but by the time I got back from that, it was curtains for me. The couch was my best friend for the rest of the evening, I didn't even eat dinner. I am still in a lot of pain, getting this parts department in order is proving to be quite physical, and it is making a mess of my legs, they are being uncooperative and are in pain. During the day, I am living on the least-strength pain pills that I have, and just trying to get by. When I get home at night, I get out the big guns and take the strong stuff, that is the only relief I get so that I can sleep. I am making progress, however, I am halfway through the shelving---cleaning and straightening. It is a filth pit, and I should have known how bad it had gotten, but frankly, I ignored what I thought might be the case, and believed my parts manager when he told me it would get handled. I take part of the responsibility of the condition of things there, and I will manage to get it back into shape. But the next guy better watch out, because I will be giving things the freakin' white glove test.....

Somehow, in all the clutter of my job, I had let the fact that it was the last day of the month escaped me, and I nearly forgot a couple of the owners personal things that had to be handled, that is a first for me. His alimony check, his house payment...good lord....that would have been a disaster. Sometimes I think I am losing my mind. I did manage to get TEN quarterly IRS reports out on Monday, I have to do them for both businesses, and I enlisted the help of D. She had never done them before, but she is so smart that I only told her once, and I didn't find one thing wrong with them. I was quite grateful. She also did the payroll for the ice cream store, and a couple of other things, it was good to have her help. It is unlike me to let things go until the last minute, but the current condition of my life---and all the hats that I am wearing at work, it was the only way. I will rethink that plan before the end of the next quarter.

I LOVED the bike ride that we took----that free feeling that I used to get as a child returned immediately. I am looking forward to being able to ride longer, and surely that won't be as much of a problem when I am not already worn out and in pain. H and I are planning a trip to the Mount Rushmore area in September, I can already tell that the bikes will fit nicely into the plans. :)

I wen to a follow up dr appointment on Monday, most of my blood work was improved, the sodium level was on it's way back up, so cutting the cymbalta dosage is apparently working...my iron level is on the way down along with something called farretin (sp?), I have to have it all re-checked in thirty days. So that was good news...

So, that is what is going on with my life lately, and i am about to check up the lives of all my favorite bloggers. I hope this Wednesday is the best for you, ever. It is Wednesday, isn't it? Out.

Good to hear you are getting things in order in the parts department, Jamie, though it makes me sad you have to endure so much pain to accomplish it. It's easy to ignore little problems until they become fires, I know. Glad you got all the end of month stuff out, and still found enough energy to climb on your bike. I am amazed that your legs would put up with it, but it does sound so fun and freeing. A great thing for you and the hubby to share! Hump day coming up, lets get it OVER with!

Sounds like you're on a roll! Except for that chronic pain stuff. That really, really sucks, worse than like, being named Shell Belle or having to answer the phone in a ridiculously perky voice 100 times a day.
The bike ride sounds awesome. Some other blogs have been inspiring me to get my bike out lately but it hasn't happened yet.
Good going at work, I hope you reward yourself generously:)
