Just another manic Monday

The weekend's are over way to quickly----and that always brings around another Monday. No--I don't want one THIS week, thank you. The first official day of the work week has a really bad reputation, and I suppose it should. Most things are put off until Monday, so then we all are expected to DO something on this day. And I have put off doing something I don't want to do until today. I have to terminate an employee---it has nothing to do with his job performance, it has only to do with economics. I hate this part of my job. Particularly since I really like this person. But i will get it done today. And offer my help in finding other employment. Damn.

I spent all day yesterday laying on my rear end. I had a pretty good day, even though I was horribly lazy. I did go out for a pretty decent walk early in the day, and that went okay-then I paid for doing it with pain the rest of the day, but i expected that. I only hope that I will be able to continue----the last time I tried, the pain wouldn't allow it, it never let up. I am hoping that with the new med I will be able to get back to where i used to be. Only time will tell...

My race was cancelled due to rain yesterday, so it will be run today. It is hard to watch from work, but i will manage. I am so spoiled that I have a television in my office, connected to a satellite dish. It is a four hour race, but I only need to see the last few laps really, although I love it so much I can sit, glued to the television for the entire time, at least from home.

Only one more Sopranos episode left---last night's was a bit of a shock. Damn. I will miss that show, even if it is a little out of character for me. It has been a good ride---six years of good television. This last year is a little "off" to me, makes me wonder if they have had a change in writers, it seems a little far fetched, even for them.

Saturday night H and I went to the big city and had dinner with YS and GF, and OS. It was a really good time, and I got to see YS and GF's new apartment, finally. I was impressed, it looks like a real "home". Yes, it still had a couple of ugly posters on the wall, but otherwise, it really looked like a normal place---a first for my kid---I guess he really is growing up. It made me happy and made me sad at the same time. :)

I think it is time for me to do something productive. I didn't do much of anything yesterday, although the housework was already pretty much caught up. This morning I need to clean out the refrigerator before I get ready to go to work. Lucky me----I hope your day is great, at least for a Monday. Later.

Man -- that sucks about having to let the employee go. I've done it before; not fun. Good luck...Mondays only happen once per week! Tuesday will be better...

Hi Jamie! I don't love Mondays either, and terminating and employee you like is so hard. I hope it goes ok. Good for you for the walking, lets hope that little by little your body will adjust. Walking is so good for the spirit! I remember visiting my daughter's first apartment, and it sure hits home then that they are truly grown up. A heart-tugger isn't it?

Last time I checked you're supposed to laze around on a Sunday, so you did good. I hope today went as well as can be expected. It's a tough thing to do under any circumstances.

PS. I'm going to Italy. Hang out at the beach. Of course you can come along. We have plenty of sunscreen. Just bring a swimming-suit. They cost a fortune to buy there. :)
