Proof I'm certifiable

A Sunday upon us, a day I'm happy to see. I'm tired because I was out too late, among other reasons, but it was worth it. The birthday dinner went well and I was so excited because all my kids were there, along with Janelle's bestest local friend and her significant other. It was a really good time, and we all made pigs of ourselves. I managed to get a little loopy and forget my issues for an hour or two, sadly, they are all back this morning, along with a couple of other deeply troubling ones I was not expecting. Ah well...such is my life.

I just realized I cannot find my phone...and I am hoping it isn't in the snow bank I had to walk in from the driveway to the house. How lovely. I cannot believe that I am just now realizing this, I would swear I had it when I went to bed, I never sleep without my phone. I must have been really tired, or perhaps more loopy than I realized, but that can't be right, I had quit drinking hours before. I slept a good portion of the drive back, and I was pretty out of it when we got in. We came up right behind an accident, a truck ran right off the highway, for unknown reasons, as the weather was horribly cold and windy, but that patch of highway was perfectly clear. We stopped to see if they were hurt or needed help, but they said they were fine, only stuck in the snow, and waved us on. I had my phone then...in my hand. Hmmm...it's either in the car or in the snow. Either way, I'm not going out in the below zero temps right now to find it. And this would be just another example of how I'm losing my mind - I don't lose things. But apparently that isn't right. :(

I hope that your Sunday is awesome. I had planned to spend mine watching last night's Bud Shootout, but someone forgot to program the dvr. I suppose I'll live and let H off the hook, after all, he's a pretty good guy otherwise. Usually. For the most part. However, you just don't mess with a girl and her NASCAR...

Later.

The most important thing is that you all had a wonderful birthday dinner and for a few short hours you could forget or at least put things to the back of your mind.

How is Janelle doing? It's going to be a long road for her, for all of you, but you've got each other to lean on and that's the best any of us can hope for. Happy Sunday Jamie.

Wow, I hear ya on the weather! Woke up to ACTUAL 4 degrees, but wind chills of 21 below. This is one of the snowiest, harshest winters I remember in a long time. I'm totally fed up with it...LOL, as if that makes a difference. Glad to know you got out and about and had some fun...the key word here is loopy, which translates to RELAXED and that is what we all need. Agree? Sorry I haven't been around for a few days...I've been caught up in bathroom remodeling hell. Hugs.

Ah Jamie. Thanks for your comment. Awesome day? Wouldn't that be just great? Really. Awesome for me would be lying on a hammock strung between two palm trees on the beach at Myrtle, under an umbrella, wind chimes serenading me, and a handsome young man serving frozen drinks. I can picture it now. The reality of my day will be much different. Happy day to you!

loopy is good-- any way ya slice it.

btw-- you didn't mention your server-- any promises?
any waitresses with issues? :))

really happy to hear you had all the kids in one place ... and actually had at least a bit of a good time.

sometimes it really doesn't take much. does it? even if it's just for a little while.

ok-- off to prepare myself for mall hell--

The race was exciting in that the cars didn't spread all around the track. For the most part they were packed up. Most drivers were commenting on the way the COT handles - so differnt from the old cars. I was glad to see Jr. win - not because I'm a particular fan of any one driver but because he really needed to have his confidence boosted.

The ARCA race was pretty good, too. I did sleep through part of it.

This week will be one long NASCAR event at this house. Later today the kids will be here and the whole crowd will be watching and discussing the qualifying for the twin races on Thursday. Thursday's races will determine the starting order for the Daytona 500. As if you needed an old gal from Alabama to tell you that. By the time the Daytona 500 is over this gang will be weak!

Hope you find your phone. It'll probably be in the car or tucked into a pocket. At least you know you had it after you left the restaurant and were in your car. That narrows the search field.

It is sooooo cold isn't it? I woke up late to -13! That's flipping crazy!

I'm glad you had fun last night. The phone is bound to be somewhere....

I take more comfort than you know in reading about how awful this weather is on your blog. Sort of makes me feel not so alone in this neverending coldness, ice, and snow.

Do you EVER remember such a long, dreary, bone chilling winter? I don't and I am OLD.

Spring will make us want to dance, yes? Well....GENTLY dance with our backs, huh?

So glad for my rain and clouds right now. No cold snow for me.

You and yours are still in my prayers!
