Choosy mothers choose jif....

I "caught" a cold yesterday. Like in the morning, before I went to work, and NO ONE WAS HERE TO THROW IT. So, where the hell did I get it? I hate colds, especially in the summer....WTF? I am snotty, and my throat hurts and I am coughing and I am sweaty (I just had to throw that one in), and I came home last evening and flopped on the couch. Flopped...isn't that a disgusting, descriptive word? I am taking day-quil...it sucks, and makes me feel more out of my head than I generally do. Bah... So, I slept in this morning, and I am still going to work because owner will be gone today, but I know I am contagious because I have a fever....geez...I am such a whiner. I want chicken soup----the real thing, not the canned variety....where is my momma when I need her?

I spent the night with a really heavy, noisy kitty on my chest. Damn, he is hot...I mean he is really hot---like making my body temperature rise, but he is so sweet, and purrs so loud....D was gone again last night, and i feel bad when the kitties mommie doesn't come home...I am really glad she has no children...just kidding D, calm down....

So, my daughter is losing her drivers license. And I think my oldest son is, too. Both of them drive too fast, and they think that they are above the law....and they both knew this would happen....and I don't know how they will get where they need to go...I have been down this road with both sons in the past, at the same time, mind you....and I thought that at least HE would have learned his lesson. I will write about that lovely time in their lives (my life) soon. It ties in the with the one "stirring" in my brain. I have so had it with all the drama that they bring on themselves. I know, I know...it's their problem, but you know me by now...and their problems are mine, as well....

Isn't life grand? Holy crap...

I guess I need to get my sick ass in gear. I will be late, but I will get there. Bwa ha ha ha ha...everyone needs to stay out of my way today.....I am carrying the frickin' plague....Out.

hey...
why are you going to work with a fever?
in fact... it crossed my mind yesterday...why do you work at all...much less TWO jobs??? have you ever considered disability? surely with your pain level, and diagnosis, you are eligible ??? ( i KNOW...none of my business...but..do i not have a right to be concerned?) i think i DO.

anyhow... i hope you feel better today, and whatever it is that has gotten a hold of you lets go soon.
i hate being sick.
ya know what tho... i make a mean chicken soup...the kind mamma makes..cuz i am a mamma ya know...and a damn good cook. :)) i'd bring ya some... if ya lived closer. i just don't think you'd want it, once it sat in the car for two or three days..would you? (how long a drive is it from here anyhow?)
as for the kids losin their DL'S... ya nephew three... i'm surprised he still has his. he gets speeding, and parking tickets ALL the time.. and NEVER pays em! geesh. i don't know why the "kids" think the way they do these days. they just gotta learn the hard way i reckon.
i just hope YOU don't turn into the taxi service. make em take buses! or ride bikes. make em learn their own lessons.
a few days ago..can't remember the conversation now...my senile ya know... but i mentioned to my daughter...if i get a call from jail...she's stayin! she was all shocked, and thought i was a terrible person if i would leave her in jail. but i told her ... hey... if you get yourself there...you'll get yourself out too!
she didn't like it...but hopefully now that she's heard it... it will keep her thinkin . well...i can hope. right?
have a good day..feel better

REALLY... NO ONE should go to work with a fever. Just do the MINIMAL thing today and get your body home to bed! Let Soul make that good chicken soup of hers....even if it took 2 or 3 days....

By the way....thought we were done with the jingles...now we're onto commercial lines?????

think liquids. lots of hot tea. and at night, add whiskey! because you're worth it ;)

well, we all have lessons to learn, and the kids will learn theirs pretty quick without a license. believe me. maybe it's the best thing for them. Paying a $200 speeding ticket when I was 17 sure turned me around (at least when it comes to speeding) :D Hope you feel better....

I hate summer colds too, Jamie. I hate colds anytime. I am sorry one caught you. Going to work with a fever sucks. Is there no one else there that can run the place for one day in the boss's absence?

Kids...always one more damn thing to deal with, isn't it? I would like to say they are adults, and it was their choice to let this happen, so their problem on how to deal with the lack of transportation... NOT yours. I had a friend who lost his license for DWI - twice in a short period of time. So for two damn years his mother drove him everywhere. Who got the punishment, her or him? One of the things about growing up is learning to live with the consequeces of your decisions. Easiser to say than to do, I know! Mom's always try to fixt things... just as your title says! :-)

Purring kitties on the chest, how well I know that one. So sweet and comforting, but my baby is an 18 pounder - so along with WARM, it becomes very hard to breathe! :-)

Feel better soon, Jamie, and if you still have a fever tomorrow - STAY HOME!!

I make good chicken soup too, but think we will take Soul up on her offer, what time are you serving, Soul Sister?

I'm always the first to get pissy when co-workers come to work sick, but always the last to stay home when I am sick.

It's a toss up, yes? I mean, if I stay home, I feel guilty (as in..I'm not on my death bed, I'm not a wussy ass, just get up and get in there.) But, if I go into work, I feel so awful and do such a cruddy job that I feel guilty.

I think my best friend is right. She tells me that I have Catholicism so hard wired into me that I feel apologetic if the sun comes up and write a sincere note of apology if it rains....

Get well soon, mate.

Wow, your at least the third blogger I've read today that has this crazy summer cold. Interesting.

Well, you know already I'm sure, take it easy as much as you can, otherwise you'll just prolong it.

So, I guess your kids won't mind taking public transportation then if they can't learn to slow down. :>

Oooh, summer colds are the worst!
Can't help with the chicken soup. I've been a vegetarian for over half my life, and don't even know how to cook chicken. It'd probably end up as Salmonella Soup. So, I guess on the positive side, at least you don't have salmonella poisoning!

I think anyone under 30 should have their car stereo removed. I think the speeding directly correlates to the volume of the music!

If you lived closer, I would cook you some chicken noodles. Perhaps a dollop of garlic mashed potatoes in the middle of the bowl? Yum, now I am hungry. Besides, you wouldn't be able to taste it, would you?

Get to feeling better soon.

Thanks to all of you that offered soup, I would certainly take it, except of course for Sarah's, I think we'll leave the chicken part to the others ;), Soul--get your rear end up here, I'm waiting...and don't forget to bring Jos, she wanted soup too...abbagirl, your idea sounds even better...with potatoes, I'm serious, where is my mom when I need her....

Thanks to all of you for stopping by--hey to Sarah and Maria and Proxima and all the rest of you...:)

jamie..here's your task for the day..since i suck at geography ... find a centrally located place , somewhere between you, me, and jos... and tell us where it is, and how far. k? we'll have to see if we can work somethin out someday.

simonsays said...

Soul, dallas isn't that far from here, about 10 hours by car. I could do that with my eyes closed. If Jos could get to you---I am not sure how far she is from you, I don't know where in NM she is located...although I wouldn't think it would be ten hours....I love texas and NM for that matter...but I never have lived in NM either, and i understand that neither of you like it there. If I had my choice, I would live in northern Az, maybe some day....

how cool... we shall discuss this further by email or phone perhaps. i'll mention it to josie. i think she said she was only like four? hours from abiline... my senile... but i think that's what she said. and we are actually in ft worth ... which is like four hours i think.. from abiline too. but...abiline would most likely be further for you... so...i'm wondering what would happen if josie and i went four hours opposite of abiline???? in your direction..or five hours. we really oughtta think about this.
c ya later
hope your feelin bettah
