Rant

Okay, I live in a rural area, in a VERY small town. And I don't get around much. But lately, I have been traveling to the "big" city of Des Moines, and I am appalled at the number of drivers who drive around NOT LOOKING at the road at all, because that might interrupt their text messaging! No shit. How can anyone drive and text at the same time? I know that there has been a drive and talk on the phone war going for some time now---and yes, I am guilty of that. But drive and text? How is this possible? It's amazing to me that there are not MORE accidents, and I'll bet you that a good number that happen each day are because of this very thing. I suppose that's enough from me for today. Out.

It is unreal the stuff people do while driving. I have seen people going down the road reading a book. Be safe out there! I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday:)

Just catching up reading the last few posts. It sounds like surgery is your only option. I am so sorry to hear this and can only imagine how you felt getting this news. You are indeed between the proverbial rock and hard place. I'll be keeping good thoughts for you. ac

I totally agree, Jamie. You just have to wonder whatever happened to common sense - no so common anymore!

well, i can only laugh at the moment...sorry. i also am usually yelling at the dumbass texting while driving.... in fact , a few months ago me and hubby were almost rear ended by a texter. that really got me upset. missed us by inches.
but anyhow...
why would i find this funny?
well, because---someone i know texted me while i was driving earlier---and, well, yes, i texted back.
sorry to include myself in your rant of the day, but it's true.

i hope you can get some rest today.

I can't figure it out either. such people look pretty silly to me. Then again I sort of skipped the cellular phase altogether.

I have seen it all too. But, I can't talk on my cell and drive at the same time, so text messaging would be a miracle.

I was a long haul truck driver for a while and saw almost everything. I would see the strangest things all across this land. Saw lots of accidents too and I wouldn't be surprised if a cell phone wasn't involved in a lot of them. Hope you are feeling better tonight!!!!! Thinking of you!

People just don't seem to value their lives or anyone elses for that matter. Dumb asses. I actually saw someone cleaning their teeth once while at the wheel but at least they were stopped at the traffic lights. The lights went green so I never did get to see where they spit....ewww.
