Anniversary

September 11th, 2001. That was a Tuesday, too. Just like today. I will never forget that day, it is frozen in time, frozen in my mind. I knew that i would never be the same. I am not.

yes jamie, same here. as bad as my memory can be... that day...i remember pretty well. i pulled my girl out of school that day. my mom in law was about to board a plane in Albuquerque, the flights were grounded JUST before she was to board her plane.
it was ... and is... and will always be... unforgettable. and terrible. and life changing. for just about everybody.

We will never be the same, Jamie, our innocence and smug sense of security was blown to bits that day. It weighs heavily on everyone's hearts. Remember how we were talking that we can all remember when JFK was shot? This date too will stay with us forever with even more horror in the realization of man's capability to carry out acts of evil.

Americans, Canadians plus many other nationalities lost their lives that day. It was a sad day for all.

Hopefully we can use this tragedy to untie under the banner of global freedom. Wishful thinking but one has to be optimistic.

I was driving in the University van at work when I heard a plane had hit the first tower. I flew home to watch the news. I was soon to get married. I will never forget that day!

Me too. I remember Liv in her high chair eating oatmeal while I ran around getting ready for work.

Then, my gf at the time called me and told me to turn on the TV. I was just...stunned.

I couldn't keep the TV on. Liv kept pointing at it and saying, "plane." So, I turned it to Sesame Street and there was Kermit singing "It isn't Easy Being Green."

I didn't go into work that day. Or the next.
