Rowboat anyone?

It has been storming, non-stop, since five o'clock yesterday afternoon. More than seven inches of rain overnight....flooding? Probably, although I haven't been out yet. My basement has water in it, but not terribly, at least not yet. That is not unusual, it gets wet often when it rains. Just wet, not under water. Flood warnings all around. I don't like floods, I know i have told you before about the flood in was in as a child, this whole water-where-it-shouldn't-be thing freaks me out. Hopefully, it will subside, and stop raining. One good thing though---it is only seventy degrees this morning, and after days and days of unbearable heat and humidity, that will be great.

Friday again...but maybe a better attitude. I am trying, at least. I got some answers at work, and now I know what i have to do, I had been holding out, waiting for someone to make a decision, and I couldn't know which way to turn until I knew what he was doing, and while I am not happy that he chose the way he did, I can now at least begin to try and dig us out of this employee shortage, if it's even possible to lure someone to come and work for a somewhat unstable, for-sale, car dealership....

I'm off to my day. I am hoping that yours is great, and I am hoping the same for mine. If I can get to work this morning...."water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink". Out.

I am not looking forward to the weekend. It only means I have to work harder. I can't wait until September! Vacation time!

Ooh, I hate flooding too. Down here there is no drainage system on the streets, so if a dog pees on the road it floods. Needless to say, if it rains heavily it creates a disaster with many of the roads and main intersections becoming impassible. I used to play hell getting back out to the farm at times like that. One time water was so high in the street that our office building flooded ankle deep - what a mess that was - since we used to keep our computers on the floor, etc. - we had mold creeping up the walls, tile coming loose, and the whole place stunk for weeks. Then we got sandbags... a little too late. Now they've disappeared from our storage (as many things tend to do), so we are due for another one for sure. I hope you don't end up in a major mess there, drive carefully! I would welcome a little rain here, but not that much please!

Glad to hear you at least got some answers about the workplace. It's hard to do your job when you don't know where things are headed. TGIF, though I suppose you have to work tomorrow. TG when it's over then!! :-)

God. Yes. This FUCKING rain. I am amazed that our basement is dry. It will not stop. I am starting to get that half hysterical feeling that I may just start laughing or crying.
