FINALLY, I'm back

Finally, I am back. It has been a long ten days since I was here - so much accomplished and so many changes...all of them good. I have held up surprisingly well, not counting the pain. It has been way off the charts but that was expected by me. What wasn't expected was that I could stay on my feet and keep going this long.

I had five days off of work, and by the time I went back last Thursday, the whole place was finished. I unpacked more than sixty-five boxes and put it all away. ME. I did not lift, I had others to move the boxes from here to there for me, but I did everything else. Being the control and neat freak that I am, there was no way that anyone else could have done it, I wold have just changed it all, anyway. So, I kept my head down and kept at it, taking pill after pill after pill...and the end result is so worth it. This place looks beautiful. I couldn't be happier with it. There are a few things that I want to buy and/or change, but for the most part, it is finished. YEA ME. I will take pics an post them, hopefully today,  :)

As I have backed off on the work now, the pain is becoming nearly unbearable again. It seems that if I stay on the go, on the move, sheer will and determination keeping me upright, I can do it. Once I give, even just a little and sit for a minute, I am attacked. I would rather not have any of it, of course, but I am grateful for the chance to get my house in order,.

The kitties are beginning to come around and enjoy their new home. Cats are so strange, it takes them quite a while to warm up to any change, good or bad. I am happy they are beginning to act like the not at all normal kitties they always have been.

Life here in the suburbs is awesome. I do not miss the noise or confusion of living in the heart of the city. At least not yet. Once I had the internet and TV hooked up, I have not missed anything whatsoever. The first few days of being here without those things was a bit QUIET, though. The silence here can be quite deafening, and that takes some getting used to.

The very best thing about our new place is my awesome bathroom. It is huge, it is laid out perfectly with a huge vanity area, and my bathtub and shower are to die for. In fact, it's so wonderful that I am going to make good use of it now --- a long, hot bath is in order this morning.

Have a beautiful Sunday, friends.  :)

I so glad you are happy with it. When you speak of you can do if if you keep going ..I think that is true of all of us..even those without much pain. When we do something different or something that has to be done we seem to find another gear...I get mad at myself for being so lazy some time...

I was so glad to read that you have gotten thru the process and nearly have everything in place. You never cease to amaze me with your determination to keep going regardless. I hope the new surroundings bring you much to smile about, that the kitties love all the new nooks and crannies to explore and that you ane Mark find peace and contentment there. Eager to see the pictures!

It's good things are getting back to normal, but hate it that the pain is there. Hope the hot soaking made it better.

Go you!

I was in the city today. I miss the hustle and bustle of it all, but it is nice to come home from it all too.

:)

Enjoy the rest of your sunday!

I am a bath person and love a hot soak it is so relaxing and refreshing. Pain is something that is hard to understand if you do not suffer from it, I have a bad back and have to use a shopping trolley when I go out shopping just to help me walk without it to lean on I can not walk very far at all and the pain is just so intense, I often wonder how my mum does as much as she does each and every day.........

Hi honey,
I'm SO glad you're moved in! I'm SO glad you're happy. I remember how excited you were when you moved into you city apartment. How great that it was a rental and you had the opportunity to try it out, and find out it wasn't for you. I can't wait to see pictures of you new abode. Wishes for much happiness there.

Hi Jamie~I've been checking in looking for a new post..been thinking about you. So happy that you're settled. I've been in my new house for over a year now & I'm still not fully unpacked! My garage looks like a bomb shelter.
I, too, have cats. 4 now, my little Gregory died shortly after I moved. It took them days to come around but now they're loving their home. It funny with cats...they've each found their favourite places around the house & they're such good company! Much good wishes & many blessings in your new home..can't wait to see the pictures.

Maria

Like you, I adore my bathroom most of all. Five people could fit in it....although WHY knowing five people could be in there with me makes me happy....is beyond me, but I would rather stay here than ever go back home: JUST to have my bathroom!!!!

As for the pain, I always say "I will not lay down cuz I might not get up again."
