Meatballs

I had Janelle and Nick and Brodie and Zach over last evening for Spaghetti and Meatballs and Chocolate Cake. My dinner was good, the evening was wonderful. I played with the boys -- Brodie thinks Grandma's bed with all the pillows make an awesome fort--and little Zach is getting so big. He had his first taste of a fudgesicle and thought it was about the best thing ever. He is just over five months old and is so beyond his age-he can obviously communicate his needs and wants with just a look. He is a snugglebear, wanting to be held most of the time. The smile that is on his face almost every minute melts my heart on sight. It isn't necessary to say that I am one proud Grandma. It also isn't necessary to say that I find this whole Grandma thing about the most joyful feeling I have ever experienced.

I am getting better in the kitchen once again...for a couple of years I just didn't cook. The past couple of months I have been back in the cold, dusty, unused room, finding joy in it once again. It's a bit like riding a bike, it didn't take too long to find my groove.

I have so much I want to get accomplished today, but I really don't want to spend the whole day working. I really need a day to relax but that is so hard for me. My place looks like the Hamilton tornado went through it...like it always does after the kids leave. It's worth every second of the cleaning required afterwards but I will have to get things at least a little straightened out today. Janelle was so helpful after dinner, she cleaned up everything - and I was very grateful. Meatballs are so labor intensive, after standing in the kitchen for a couple of hours I was ready to sit. Brodie wears me beyond out, but he is so much fun. He is talking so well and saying everything. Oh how he makes me laugh.

I am off to the gym. UGH.
Happy Sunday. :)

Will you look at the eyes on this little guy.. wow, he's gonna be a ladykiller! :-)) And you, doing all this yesterday, and cleaning house today, and then you close by saying "I'm headed off to the gym". I wish I had half your energy Jamie, and I know how much determination goes into you getting all those things done. You inspire me more than you know!

When I saw the color on Zach's cheeks, I thought, that doesn't look like spaghetti sauce. After reading on, I thought, that looks exactly like a fudgesicle. Oh, that must have been so fun to watch.

I'm so glad Janelle cleaned up for you. She knows help is always appreciated. I buy my meatballs now. They're so labor-intensive to make. The ones I buy from Sam's taste as good as any I've ever made.

Relax. You need to make that a mantra. Me too :))

Enjoy your Sunday friend 'o mine.

Aren't grandkids the absolute best?!

I love the picture. His eyes are very expressive.

I love to cook but have to admit when it's just me I don't spend much time in the kitchen. Something to work on :-)

Hope your Sunday was fantastic!
