My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades...

The sun is streaming in my window/door so brightly that I am nearly blinded. We have lived in this apartment for three weeks, and I believe that has only happened about four times...just to show you how much it rains here. When it does happen, it's quite beautiful. You almost have to wear your sunglasses from six to seven am, though.

So, I gave in yesterday, and began taking the damned cymbalta again. I really did NOT want to do that, but I cannot believe how much pain I am in, so I assume it was doing a wonderful job of keeping the neuropathy at bay. I am disgusted about it, but it was either that or cut both my legs off. Taking the pills that are so impossible to QUIT TAKING seemed less dramatic.

I bought a page magnifier yesterday so that I can try to study for my state insurance exam. It helps a little, but if I move it too much, it makes my stomach sick, just the same way that magnifying glasses do. Someday, someone has got to figure out what's wrong with my eyes/brain. This is getting to be a huge problem.

I start another round of training on Monday. UGH. Soon, I will be the most trained person on the planet, and still be unable to DO anything. I would love to tell you all that I am ultra-excited to start my new job, but so far I have NOT been overwhelmed with feelings of that nature. Mostly, I just dread working at all, and if any of you know me in the least, that is not like me. I chalk it up to feeling so damned bad all the time, physically. I am very hopeful that I can get my head on straight soon, and start feeling like me again.

One-two-three (??) (or maybe all four of them, including steph) of my kids and I are going to the Des Moines Arts Festival today, I am looking forward to it. It is an annual event that has gotten to be quite large in the art world, (something I know NOTHING about, BTW). Many local and nationally known artists are there, displaying their work, and selling it, of course. I have always wanted to go. And, it actually looks like the weather will cooperate for a change. :)

An old high school buddy of Mark's is coming up tonight to hang with him and go out. I think they will have a good time, both of them need a little down time. It will be pretty late when he gets here so I assume by then, I will be out cold, but they will wander our new area and scope out all the clubs. One of the perks of living here is that you can go out and party and not worry about who drives, there a so many within walking distance. For that reason, I expect that our new spare bed will not have too many "down-time" weekends. Plus, Trav and Alex- my niece will be coming back soon, and then Alex's mom (and my sister) Shell, her husband Rob and my little Carli will be coming right after. I am dying to spend some time with Carli...it can't be soon enough.

Yesterday, I worked on the books and bills and for hours and I am still not caught up, but I did make progress. There is so much to do and so much to take care of -- with the Ice Cream Store, my own bills and then, I also take care of all of Bill's personal business, so that in itself is nearly a full time job. This weekend, I have to go buy yet another file cabinet, as I will be working out of this apartment, and there will tons of paperwork to keep track of with the job. Our space is limited now, so it's very important that everything has a place and that it stay there, or it will look like the now famous F5 tornado that hit northern Iowa last month hit here, as well.

Have I put you all to sleep yet? Good heavens, when did I get to be so boring? Has it always been this way when you read here? Wait a minute, don't answer that...

Have a most happy weekend. :)

It sounds like it's going to be party central over there. Wish I was closer I'd love to do the art fair with you all.

Not sleeping here. Really, you're never boring. I hope the art fair is a fun diversion. Hope you have good weather, and a good break from all the studying and other stresses. Ah life, it's good and bad and everything in-between. We do live for the good though, right? I hope more good is coming your way.

Nope - never boring. I'd love to "do" the art fair but, alas, I'm in Alabama. I don't envy you the days of study time. It sounds to me as if you already have a full time job with the books you keep. I have to ditto Cheryl's comment. She is so good at expressing what I'd like to say.

I'm so sorry about your pain Jamie...but,unfortunately, when it happens it become the main focus point of our lives. It makes us mean after a while...I've experienced that and was shocked that I could be so cutting. If you've found something that works for you....I say, TAKE IT. Pain takes priority over everything and makes you unable to enjoy even the simplest things in life. If the Cymbalta can calm that angry beast...let it so you enjoy life. Big hugs and I hope you feel better soon! Love, Charlotte
