A quiet crack

What do you do, when your child, your own child makes a decision that you KNOW is wrong? Seriously, what do you do? Aside from listening to your own heart break, I mean...

Always the issues and always the drama. I want to stop and get off now, thank you very much.

I don't know what you do. Did we have any idea parenting would be so hard? I didn't, and sometimes I just can't stand it. Somehow, parents survive. We just have to give it time. You can't bear the burden of your child's choices, but hope it turns out better than you anticipate. You'll have us to lean on, OK?

Sometimes you HAVE to tell them you think it's wrong, and sometimes ya' just can't .

Then you pray yer ass off. And remember that ...someday ....they'll
get all wise and mature .

You thank God that they are alive and healthy ,not in prison..etc...

Then you borrow the glue from your girlfriends. :))

Whatever it is ..."this too shall pass"

I'm so sorry hon. I can't imagine going through that. I guess love is the only answer I have.

I did read thru the rest of your posts. Your family is lovely... Carli is so adorable. I'm glad your mom is home.

Many prayers coming your way.

The worst hurt we ever have is that of seeing our children make decisions that we know is wrong. Cheryl is right. At some point we have allow our children to bear the burden of their choices. It's a part of their maturing but, oh God, how it hurts us parents. We're here for you.

RIGHT OR WRONG, THEY'LL FIGURE IT OUT, HOPEFULLY SOONER THAN LATER , AND LET THEM KNOW YOU LOVE THEM,NO MATTER WHAT...THATS WHAT WE DO, WE ARE MOMS....HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT

that's a hard question...one that our parents asked..and ones that we ask....gosh..just stand by and love them...and if necessary...deal out the tough love as well...

All you can do is listen, love, and give them a safe place to which to return if it should all go to hell in a hand basket. We are all someone's child, and as such, in my opinion, what we all need our home of origin to be a safe place, a refuge to return to if necessary, until such a time as we learn to create our own safe place. It is a safety net for our souls to have that. It is what I would want to provide for my son, while being very careful not to push him off the tightrope he's walking.

I like seeing everyone's advice. I never think my daughter is wrong. I'm too flexible or empathetic or something. I go with every decision she makes, so I'm a lousy "guide." I bounce around her life with her while her dad holds the line. I wish she would get a boyfriend and have sex.
