and caught the Sunday smell of someone's frying chicken....

I accomplished what I set out to today----I have managed to sleep away most of this whole Sunday. I was rudely awakened by a "forty-five second recorded message about Mit Romney"..........ack. I will give HIM a forty-five second recorded message...in fact it wouldn't take nearly that long.....

I went out for a bike ride this morning at six-thirty. I had a blast! It was about seventy five degrees already and the humidity was so high that you could drink the air....but what fun! H went with me, and we were gone for almost forty-five minutes. I really struggled with a couple of hills, but otherwise, the pain felt good. Until I got home, got off my bike, and had no legs. None. I nearly fell. It took a little while before i could walk, but it was so worth it. I have alot of conditioning to do before we go on vacation next month, or I will be pushing my bike in the Badlands. I really am having a good time, though. I am certain I will pay for it tomorrow, I already have today. I wouldn't be pushing myself so far but the doctor thought it would be okay...he said to ride as much as I could tolerate comfortably...yeah right, I am soooo about not pushing myself. He did warn me that with my medical problems, it would take twice as long to get my body used to it, and not over do it. Uh huh, okay. He doesn't know me too well yet. I can't do permanent damage, at least I don't think so, I see no reason why physical exercise could cause the nerve damage in my legs to get permanently worse....so anyway---it was a good morning.

I came home, cleaned up my sweaty self, put a couple of chickens in the rotisserie, and took a nap. Woke up, watched part of my race and ate some chicken, and took a nap. Woke up, watched the disappointing ending to my race (I don't LOVE Kurt Bush) and took a nap. And here I am. And guess what? I need a nap......

Oooh, this was a good theme song for today, Jamie. Sounds like you have had a really great day - lots of rest (which you REALLY, REALLY needed), and a little fun out on the bikes! I am so excited for your trip to Dakota. Have you been there before? It's beautiful - especially the badlands. Whew, that's some serious bike riding! BTW, thanks MUCH for all your caring, it means a lot to me!

No---I don't know the cornbread and chicken song, but this IS a johnny cash song--"Sunday Morning Coming Down", written by kris kristofferson, I think. I know you would know it--

I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, so I had one more for dessert.
And I rustled to my closet, through my clothes and found my cleanest dirty shirt.
And I brushed my teeth and combed my hair, and stumbled down the stairs to meet the day....

Do you remember it?
