Ten Good Things About ME

Okay, so i am supposed to list ten positive things about me. That could be hard to do, but i will try.

1. I am loyal. I do not run out on you when the going gets rough. (Just like I said a couple of days ago.)
2. I am honest, often too much so, and that could perhaps be a negative, but for this purpose, I will call it a positive.
3. I am smart. Most of the time.
4. I know when to listen, and when to talk. I think this one is HUGE!
5. I do not get dramatic and carry on---I know, I know, this is NOT the current fashion, but drama is repulsive to me.
6. I am a good cook, housekeeper, etc.---all those supposed WOMAN jobs.
7. I know many, many typical MAN jobs, too. But I prefer not to do them, as a rule.
8. I am a great problem-solver. (Hence the name of my blog)
9. I do what I say I will.
10.I am a good dancer----this one really doesn't belong on the list, but I ran out of the more philosophic good points.....

Hmmm....I sound like a strong old ox---and really, that's not what you think of me when you meet me. At least I hope. But there is the list. The funny part is, I can come up with a negative that would tack right on to each sentence there...but I suppose that would be counter-productive.

I would like to hear the same from each of you---make it your next post!

Way to go Jamie! I think this is an awesome list of great things about you! I wish I honestly add your number 6 and number 10 to my list. I wish I was good at both of those! I think 10 does belong on the list - it's something you can feel good about, which was the whole point of this exercise! I so agree with you on number 5, I hate drama queens. Sounds to me like you would make anyone an awesome friend! We ALL could tack on disclaimers to each thing on our list, that's the message here - to stop doing that and start affirming our positives! Thanks for participating, I hope that more do!

Josie, you are such a positive and "up" kind of person. I need to be more like you.

Ahh but I'm not, Jamie! If you knew me in person you'd see that I'm much more of a cup-half-empty type of girl, always a little bit gloomy about my life for some reason. But I am trying hard to change that perspective, because I'm tired of living in the dumps. When I fall into negative or panicked thinking, I'm trying to learn to tell myself "Stop It!" I find it is very true that by encouraging others I also encourage myself. I guess that's the secret! :-)

I just loved your list, Jamie, you put some good thought into it. I also love capable people, who learn to take care of what the situation requires. You are obviously one of those.

I love the theme of your blog. I can't wait for my kids to get the heck out of here so I can grow-up already!

josie...either you printed that list...or you have a damn fine memory!!!
i cannot recall, or refer to certain numbers of which qualities of jamies i appreciate... but yes... many are things i have already "seen" throu reading her blog. also to see her write them in list form... kudos jamie!!! i'm not sure i could list three!!!! good challenge though. but i too would feel compelled to counter each positive with a negative.
in fact, my sister...and in fact, hubby as well.. for years, have suggested that i paste "affirmations" on my mirror !!!!
seems other people see in me what i do not.
but i am trying.
good post.
take care
